What is Breast Augmentation?
There are a lot of reasons to consider breast augmentation. From women who are naturally small-breasted to those seeking to restore breast size and shape after pregnancy or significant weight loss, Janiga MDs offers plenty of options to help you realize your full, ideal body. Breast enhancement is a category of procedures that includes breast implants (saline or silicone), or a breast lift with implants.
Options for Breast Augmentation Surgery
As mentioned, there are many options for your surgery to enhance the size or volume of the breasts. These options include the type, size, and material of breast implant, the incision pattern, and the placement depth of your implants. All these factors depend on things like your anatomy and natural breast tissue, your desired enhancement degree, and whether you’re better suited for silicone implants or saline implants.
At JanigaMDs, we are proud to offer the 3-D imaging software Vectra® that will allow you to “virtually try on” your size and shape of implant. Dr. Janiga’s staff will image your body with the software prior to meeting with him. During your consultation you will be able to use the software to try on different size implants on your own body’s 3-D image. This takes the guess work out of sizing and allows you to feel comfortable with your choice of size and shape.
No matter which option you choose, our board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Timothy Janiga can help you find the most natural-looking breast implant surgery technique and implants that are right for your figure. Saline and silicone gel implants both have their benefits and drawbacks for certain body types, and although the inframammary incision (beneath the breast fold) is the most common technique used, there are other incision options available if you can clearly benefit from them.

Dr. Janiga performs breast augmentation or breast lift with augmentation procedures his outpatient surgery center
At Janiga MDs, Dr. Timothy Janiga specializes in plastic surgery and Dr. Jennifer Janiga specializes in dermatology, giving their practice a unique, comprehensive perspective on their patients’ cosmetic needs in the Reno, Nevada area. It’s normal to expect some swelling and bruising for up to three weeks after breast surgery. You can expect to return to work within five to seven days, sometimes longer if you have a physically intense job. Full results are expected within three months. Once you’ve healed, you’ll see fuller breasts with a very natural and proportionate look for your body. Breast augmentation patients should not lift anything more than 20 pounds for up to 6 weeks following their surgery, and depending on the implant location, they should be careful of stretching their arms or chest muscle too much during the recovery period. Other restrictions will be discussed with your breast augmentation surgeon during your personalized consultation appointment. When you set up a consultation with Dr. Janiga, he will thoroughly discuss the various surgical options and give you a realistic expectation of your outcome and the right procedure steps and materials for your anatomy.
