What is Juvéderm® Voluma?
Wrinkles and lines aren’t the only signs of aging. Over time, our faces start to lose volume, resulting in a flattened or sunken look. This is often referred to by medical professionals as “age related volume loss”.
As part of the Juvéderm® family, Voluma is the first hyaluronic acid dermal filler of its kind to be FDA approved for the purpose of restoring volume to the mid-face, cheekbone, and chin area. Derived from a naturally occurring component of the human skin, Voluma is both a safe and convenient way of turning back the clock.
The Procedure
As a dermal filler, Juvéderm® Voluma must be injected under the skin. While there is a mild amount of discomfort associated with the procedure, most is alleviated by the topical numbing medication applied for approximately 30 minutes prior to beginning.
Voluma appointment lengths may vary depending on the size and number of treated areas. Most appointments should last no longer than 60-90 minutes.
Recovery & Results
Juvéderm® Voluma is FDA approved to last up to two years.
Minimal bruising is normal and may last from three to seven days depending on the size of the bruise and the individual’s healing rate. There will be some redness and swelling for two to three days. Mild discomfort may remain around the treated area for one to days and can be relieved with over the counter pain relievers.
