What is Volux™?
Volux XC™ by Juvéderm® is one of the newest injectable fillers available. Made with cross-linked hyaluronic acid, it’s formulated specifically for enhancing and defining the jawline with one of the most substantial formulations available from Juvéderm®. In fact, it’s the first FDA-approved filler for jawline definition.
Hyaluronic acid is a natural complex sugar found in your skin that helps maintain hydration and elasticity. When Volux™ is injected into the skin around the jawline, it can further define the jawline’s contours for a more defined look from every angle. Volux™ is also part of the XC collection, meaning it contains lidocaine for a more comfortable injection experience.
Who is a Good Candidate for Volux™?
Volux™ is a great option for patients who are bothered by a weak jawline but aren’t ready for surgery or are not good candidates for surgery. If you’re considering dermal filler treatment, you should be in overall good health. If you’ve ever had a negative reaction to lidocaine, fillers containing lidocaine would need to be avoided. During a consultation with our providers, you’ll discuss whether Volux™ is the best way to achieve your cosmetic goals.
For even more effective jawline contouring, your treatment plan can also include Kybella®, a non-surgical way to reduce a double chin. Janiga MDs can help you determine the best approach for your specific needs.
The Volux™ Procedure
Volux™ treatment can be completed in about 15-20 minutes. To begin, you’ll discuss your goals with your Janiga MDs provider to determine the best approach. Then, the area will be numbed with a topical numbing medication. After about 20 minutes, the numbing medication will be wiped off, the injection site will be sterilized, and the product will be injected. You’ll be able to see noticeable improvement right away and will improve over the course of about a month.
There’s no downtime necessary after Volux™, although you may have minor bruising or swelling. You can return to your everyday activities after treatment.
Results & Recovery
You will notice an improvement in your jaw line contour right away and you should allow 1-2 weeks for all swelling to subside and 4 weeks for your final results to settle in. Volux™ is one of the longest-lasting Juvéderm® fillers available, with results lasting for 1-2 years for many patients. Your Janiga MDs provider can help you understand when to return for your next treatment.
