The facelift offered at our center is a highly customizable procedure which can be personalized to suit your individual needs and to help meet your cosmetic goals. Depending on your specific requirements and extent of changes needed, you can either undergo a full or a mini facelift. When you opt for the mini facelift procedure, you get the advantage of a shorter recovery period and also not having to deal with the same amount of scarring as is associated with the full facelift procedure. Even though it is an effective procedure, the mini facelift is not ideal for everybody and you must schedule a consultation with Dr. Janiga before choosing to undergo it.

Understanding a mini facelift?

The mini facelift or ‘short scar’ facelift is a variation of the traditional facelift procedure, only that it offers shorter incisions and hence, a shorter recovery period. Dr. Janiga makes 2 small incisions during your mini facelift in front of your ears that allows him to lift the mid-face area. The mini facelift can only offer a lift to the area around your cheeks and not to the entire facial area. It will also not offer any combination procedures such as the brow lift or eyelid lift which usually accompanies the full facelift procedure to offer you complete rejuvenation.

The mini facelift procedure, however, is an effective option to help you get subtle results. It helps you reverse skin laxity ranging from mild to moderate in your jowls and neck area. However, the mini facelift cannot rid you of permanent jowls and you can only get a subtle neck lift.

How beneficial is the mini facelift?

The mini facelift procedure is limited in its benefits, but there are also many advantages due to which it is a popular choice at Janiga MDs:

• The incisions involved are shorter which means any associated pain and inflammation is also considerably lesser.

Who is a good candidate?

A good candidate is usually less than 50 years of age since those who are still in their 30s and 40s only experience mild to moderate sagging in their mid-face area. Other than the skin laxity, you may also experience sagging in the SMAS as well and this is effectively addressed by the mini facelift.

Our patients who are older than 50, usually struggle with a significant amount of skin laxity in their face and neck area and in this case, the mini facelift may not be able to get you the desired results. However, if you have mostly been slim then the skin laxity will also be minimal and you will benefit from the mini facelift. It is also a great procedure when you cannot take time off work and are satisfied with subtle results.
