In earlier posts, we’ve discussed hyaluronic acid dermal fillers like Juvéderm®, so it only seems fitting that we now cover Restylane® Lyft (formerly Perlane®). Restylane Lyft is an injectable sub-dermal filler which allows a skilled, board certified dermatologist like Dr. Jennifer Janiga to address and correct the deeper, structural skin issues that can lead to the visible signs of aging. There are a lot of benefits to Restylane Lyft, so here’s what to know about this exciting new option.
Restylane Lyft Attracts and Binds to the Water Already In Your Skin
One of the key benefits Restylane® Lyft brings to the table is that it actually attracts water molecules and binds to the moisture content already in your skin, supporting and encouraging it to build up in the treatment area. Beyond the initial benefits of smoother-looking skin, this also means that Restylane® Lyft can last up to a year.
Restylane® Lyft Treatments Take Very Little Time
Another great benefit is that the procedure itself is relatively quick and relatively painless. Depending on the number of sites requiring treatment, a visit to our Reno office can take about an hour total. Although, as with any procedure where injections will be performed, some discomfort is to be expected. In this case, topical numbing medication is applied prior to the actual procedure – which deals quite nicely with the initial “pinch” – and requires a little extra waiting time. Restylane® Lyft itself is also formulated with a small amount of lidocaine for extra comfort.
You may experience some bruising at the injection sites, which should fade completely within a week. Within two weeks. Cold compresses and acetaminophen are usually enough to help with any subsequent discomfort you may experience after you return home.
Like Most Hyaluronic Acid Injectables, Restylane® Lyft Treatments Work Right Away
Other than potential bruising or very minor swelling associated with any sub-dermal hyaluronic acid injection, the benefits of Restylane® Lyft are similar to other injectables like Juvederm, they are immediate and measurable. Deep lines and wrinkles in the skin are literally wiped away during the injection process. Then the cumulative hydrophilic (water attracting and binding) properties continue to build up the underlying structure of the skin over time, greatly diminishing the signs of aging and augmenting the initial contouring the gel itself produced.
