How Does CoolSculpting Work?

What is CoolSculpting®?
CoolSculpting® is a noninvasive body sculpting procedure. It uses fat-freezing technology to eliminate stubborn fat that is resistant to diet and exercise. It can treat many areas of the body, including the double chin, upper arms, flanks, abdomen, and inner and outer thighs.
What is Dual Sculpting?
Dual Sculpting is a technique where two CoolSculpting® machines are used at once to sculpt two areas of your body at one time. This decreases treatment time for patients allowing them to get back to their day sooner. Janiga MDs is one of the few practices in Northern Nevada with Dual Sculpting as an option.
How Does it Work?
During the CoolSculpting® procedure, the CoolSculpting® applicator will be applied to the treatment area, where it will suction your skin and fat. Then, it will feel intensely cold, which will numb the treatment area. CoolSculpting® cooling technology will then be used to target and kill only the stubborn fat cells, leaving surrounding tissues unharmed. In the weeks following your treatment, your body will naturally process the fat and eliminate dead cells. Because fat cells are killed and eliminated from the body, they cannot grow back, meaning that results are long-lasting.
Each treatment session can last from 35-60 minutes, and some patients have more than one treatment per visit. Many individuals will read, check their email, or even nap during their treatment sessions to pass the time. In our CoolSculpting® room, we even have a television set up so you can relax and catch up on your favorite Netflix binge.
What to Expect After Treatment
Following treatment, you can return to your everyday activities right away. Some patients may begin to see changes as quickly as three weeks after treatment, though the most dramatic results can be seen after two months. Your body will continue to flush out fat cells for up to 3 months after treatment.
