What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is a radio frequency-based device for resurfacing and tightening of the skin and it can be used alone or in combination with other procedures. Morpheus8 can be used as a resurfacing device to treat acne, scarring, stretch marks, crepey skin, lax skin, wrinkles, texture irregularities, and other skin concerns. The radiofrequency energy device is meant to bridge the gap between the results of fractionated lasers and surgical skin rejuvenation treatments. It can be used on all skin types, including acne-prone and darker skin tones, as the technology is safe for all skin types.
Am I a Good Candidate for Morpheus8?
When it comes to your candidacy for skin tightening with Morpheus8, most patients with loose skin or low collagen production around the neck or chest are good candidates. Because it can be used on all skin types and tones, there is little that can disclude you from using this treatment. Morpheus8 is adept enough to treat skin concerns present in deeper layers of the skin without damaging healthy tissue. Morpheus8 treatment can also be used as a resurfacing tool for patients with uneven skin texture or color on their neck or chest due to damage from direct sun exposure. Additionally, in certain cases, Morpheus8 can be used to treat acne scarring.
Morpheus8
Morpheus8 is a new treatment that is “microneedling on steroids.”
At Janiga MDs, Dr. Timothy Janiga specializes in plastic surgery and Dr. Jennifer Janiga specializes in dermatology, giving their practice a unique, comprehensive perspective on their patients’ cosmetic needs in the Reno, Nevada area.
The Procedure
The Morpheus8 has a microneedling-like technology with the addition of radio frequency heating to the pins to fractionally coagulate tissue, resurface the top layer of the skin, and give deep stimulation to collagen and elastin production. Morpheus8 can be combined with many other procedures to augment results. Some examples of other procedures that we can combine with Morpheus8 include EmbraceRF, FaceTite, and BodyTite. Morpheus8 can even be combined with surgical options such as facelift and eyelid lift to help with some of the texture irregularities of the skin in the surgical area.
Recovery & Results
Morpheus8 is traditionally an in-office procedure that is performed with topical anesthetic being applied for 30 minutes prior to the procedure. Results with Morpheus8 are impressive. Reduction in acne scars, lines and texture irregularities are up to 50%, and when done in combination with other procedures the results are even more amazing. To maintain the best possible results, be sure to continue to use the proper sunscreen and skincare products.
